2. What is Vodder Method Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?

MLD is a gentle medical technique  that helps remove toxins, reduce swelling, and promote healing, especially after surgery or to manage lymphedema. It is the lightest MLD technique that differs from the much more vigorous Brazilian lymph massage.


3. Can massage therapy help with pain from chronic conditions like arthritis or fibromyalgia?

Yes, massage helps reduce muscle tension and improve circulation, offering pain relief and relaxation for conditions like arthritis or fibromyalgia.

4. How soon after plastic surgery can I get a massage or MLD?

Typically, MLD is recommended 3–7 days after surgery to reduce swelling and speed up recovery.


5. Can I get a massage while pregnant?

Yes, pregnancy massage is designed to relieve discomforts like back pain and swelling, with safe techniques tailored to expectant mothers. Massage can start after first trimester.

6. How can massage therapy help athletes with recovery and injury prevention?

Massage improves circulation, reduces soreness, and helps prevent injuries, keeping muscles flexible and ready for performance.


7. Are your therapists trained to work with autoimmune conditions?

Yes, our therapists are experienced in treating conditions like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and MS, tailoring treatments for pain, fatigue, and inflammation relief.

8. What are the benefits of MLD for post-op recovery?

MLD helps reduce swelling, bruising, and discomfort after surgery while speeding up recovery and preventing complications like scarring.


9. Is MLD safe for people with a history of cancer or lymphatic issues?

MLD can be safe, but it’s important to consult your doctor first, especially for those with cancer or lymphatic issues.


10. How often should I get a massage or lymphatic drainage treatment?

 It depends on your needs. For recovery, 2–3 times a week may be best, while chronic pain or autoimmune management might need weekly or biweekly treatments.

11. How do I know if MLD is right for me?

MLD is great for swelling, bloat, feeling fatigue,  post-surgery recovery, and boosting the immune system.


12. Do you use radio frequency or cavitation machines for treatments?

Currently, we don’t offer radio frequency or cavitation treatments. We body sculpt by hand manipulating fascia , but we plan to incorporate these services in the future. Stay tuned for updates!

13. What should I expect during a medical massage or MLD session?

Your therapist will assess your needs and focus on areas with discomfort. MLD targets interstitial fluid (swelling ) and calms down the nervous system with gentle targeted pumping strokes, while medical massage targets specific pain points in musculature.


14. Are there any situations where massage or MLD isn’t recommended?

Massage or MLD should be avoided in cases of active infections, taking antibiotics, blood clots, certain cancers, or acute inflammatory conditions.

15. What’s the difference between a Medical Massage Therapist and a Medical Massage Specialist?

A Medical Massage Therapist is trained in general medical massage, while a Medical Massage Specialist has specialized training for complex conditions like sports injuries or post-op care.

16. Do you offer customized treatment plans for specific medical conditions?

Yes, we create personalized plans for conditions like acute or chronic pain and after full assessment we figure out how to improve your quality of life based on your lifestyle to address your specific needs.


17. Do you offer regular massages for relaxation, or is it just therapeutic?

We offer both relaxation massages to reduce stress and therapeutic ones for specific medical needs.


18. Can massage help with stress and mental well-being?

Yes, massage helps reduce stress, lowers cortisol, and improves overall mental well-being.

19. What if I’m not sure what treatment to book?

If you’re unsure, book a session, and we’ll consult with you to determine the best treatment for your needs.


20. What should I expect during my first massage session?

Your therapist will review your health history, discuss areas of tension, and adjust pressure and technique according to your preferences and goals.

21. Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes, we require 24 hours' notice to cancel. Cancellations within 24 hours incur a 50% fee; no-shows are charged 100%.


22. Do you accept insurance or health savings accounts?

We don’t accept insurance, but we do accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), if applicable.
